Swapped out the G-hooks for these buckles in about ten minutes, and the 1" size makes them way easier to adjust with gloves on. They feel solid and click in securely, even if I do miss the sleeker look of the originals.

The buckles slide right onto the existing webbing with zero fuss, and they feel sturdier than I expected when cinching down. Swapping out the G-Hooks took me maybe five minutes, and now I’m actually reaching for this flap more often.

I was nervous about switching from the hooks to the buckles, but the 1-inch hardware clicks in place with a satisfying snap and feels just as secure on the trail. My only gripe is that the webbing ends are a bit stiff at first, though they do relax after a couple of uses.
